A new puzzle of each, every day

Nightjar is a small cabinet of daily puzzle games that run in the browser. There is nothing to install, no account to make, and no advertising. Five puzzles are set every day at midnight UTC and everybody gets the same ones: a jigsaw cut from a freshly painted picture, a ball sort rack, three hangman words graded from everyday to unspellable, a sudoku stamped Easy, Medium or Hard, and a word search on a theme drawn that morning.

Each puzzle keeps your progress where you left it, so you can close the tab and finish the 1000-piece jigsaw over a few sittings. Everything works on a phone as well as a desktop.

Why daily

A puzzle that resets at midnight is a puzzle you can finish. There is no endless queue of levels to grind and no reason to come back twice in a day — the point is one good puzzle, done, and then the rest of your evening back.
